Cause - why do they happen?

Corns are small, hardened areas of skin that develop on the feet due to repeated pressure or friction. They can be painful and uncomfortable, but there are ways to prevent and treat them. Proper footwear, cushioning pads, and regular foot care can help keep corns at bay.

Calluses are thick, hardened layers of skin that develop when your skin tries to protect itself against friction and pressure. They are often caused by wearing ill-fitting shoes, walking barefoot, or using tools that repeatedly rub against your skin. Other factors that can contribute to their development include age, certain medical conditions, and poor foot hygiene.  Using a Foot File on a regular basis to keep the build up of hard skin down is recommended:  

Treatments

Corns and calluses can be painful and uncomfortable. There are several treatments available to help alleviate the discomfort, including over-the-counter creams and pads, as well as professional treatments such as trimming and filing.
